There's been a lot of news about Brexit, and how it will affect our NHS - and sometimes it's hard to sift the fact from the fiction. We've got the real stats and figures about what's happening, and what doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are worried about. This is why NHS Against Brexit exists, and why we need you to join our campaign.
The fact is that Brexit will have an effect on the NHS. With the 'divorce bill' being higher than any financial benefits we take from leaving, the 'Brexit dividend' won't become reality. The £350 million extra a week for the NHS was proven to be false, and the Vote Leave campaign was fined for breaking rules. Many NHS staff come from EU countries, and are likely to question their position in the UK workforce. Research, especially for rare diseases, are conducted by researchers across various European countries, and the UK is already being forced out of EU-wide contracts. And there are hundreds more issues that doctors, nurses, health workers, and patients are worried about in a post-Brexit world - and that's before we even get into the stockpiling issue.
But we can get out of this. We can demand a People's Vote on the final deal, and have a democratic say on whether we accept the deal Theresa May comes up with - if there is any deal at all. Sign the People's Vote petition here.
